When you are away from home for the holidays or vacation you may feel that your home and property is vulnerable to invasion. During the non-operating hours of your business it may at one time or another become victim to a burglary or vandalism. The DeFuniak Springs Police offers a service that is geared toward deterring these types of crimes from occurring. A security check can be done on your home or business by you the owner simply contacting our office. The patrol officers will ride by your home or business and look for suspicious activity. They will get out and walk around your establishment and look for signs of foul play such as pry marks on doors, broken windows, foot prints and tire tracks. When you call in your security check you will be asked a series of questions such as: What vehicles will be left at the home? A brief description of the home? Is there any damage that currently present to the home? Is there a barn or shed behind the home? Who can we get in contact with in the event we cannot get up with you? What contact information is available for you? The officers will shine flashlights on the home and property though so if you are home do not be spooked if you see the officers checking your windows or doors. If you wish for just a ride by security check in which the officer simply ride by your home or business please specify when calling.
